Transportation

Pardubice region is connected with its surroundings by road, rail, water and air transport.

Road transport

To Pardubice city – the natural centre of the Pardubice region - you can get here by car or bus as follows: from Prague along the D11 motorway to exit Pardubice, then along road no. 36 through Bohdaneč Spa. From Liberce along road E442 to Hradec Králové and then along road no. 37 from Hradec Králové. From Olomouc along road E442 to Holic and then to Pardubice. From Havlíčkuv Brod Along road no. 37 via Chrudim to Pardubice.

The D11 motorway should be completed in the near future and connect Pardubice to this motorway, plus the prepared speedway R35 as a parallel to the D1, road transfer I/37 to Hradec Králové and Chrudim,

Plane connection

Pardubice Airport has an advantageous position in the middle of the region of East Bohemia. Thanks to this, it is fast and easy to access not just from all places in the region, but also from all adjacent regions, either in the direction from Prague, or from Liberec and Hradec Králové in the north, or from Olomouc or Havlíčkuv Brod. The airport is ca. 4 km southwest from the city centre and can be reached from all directions without having to go through the centre. Pardubice Airport has fulfills all conditions of Schengen space and thus cancelled all border controls for flights to countries of the European Union on the night of March 29th, 2008.

Rail travel

Pardubice’s position as an important railway junction on the modernised railway corridor is another opportunity for quality development in the entire region of Pardubice. As the first in the country, Pardubice’s railway station has a barrier-free system. Handicapped visitors to the city can thus move about the entire railway station without any problems, they can get on and off trains without difficulties. Water travel

Navigating the Labe to Pardubice and establishing a multi-modal logistics centre, which includes the port for the cruise boat Arnošt in Pardubice, is a long-term goal. A territory is reserved on the left bank of the Labe between Svitkov and Srnojed, for the multi-modal logistics centre. The division of the 102 ha area is planned into a public port, multi-modal logistics centre and winter port territory.

The Arnošt cruise boat anchors in Pardubice at the ČEZ Arena and cruises to Kunětice and Srnojed.

City public transportation

The city public transportation is provided by the Statutory city of Pardubice in the form of trolleybuses and buses of the Public Transport company of the city of Pardubice. It also serves the surrounding municipalities: Bohdaneč Spa, Ostřešany, Mnětice, Opočínek, Němčice, Srch, Sezemice, Černá u Bohdanče, Starý Mateřov, Hostovice and Úhřetická Lhota.
